sooley1b-th.jpgWelcome to Caldiatech™. In a few short thoughts I want to sum up the “so what makes us different” logic for you and let you know what we provide for our clients.

In 27 some-odd years of being involved in the software business at one level or another I’ve seen a lot of scenarios from both the customer side, the developer side and the end user side. That being said, I believe that there are two distinctive elements that set us apart from the crowd: Communication and Cost.

Communication

Really, enough can’t be said about this. At the root of all projects’ successes, or lack thereof, is a clear-cut vision of the project. The “rush to market” logic has led to so many problems for systems since the birth of the internet. Do we all remember the “Roaring 2000’s?” Remember back just a few short years ago when the Nasdaq was reaching 5000 and everyone sold two years of programming but promised it in six months? Then, reality set in.

Prior to building out any solution, we go out of our way to discover the most finite details of your needs. Whether we start from “napkin drawings” and go through standard SRS phases or jump right into prototyping and OCDs, we make sure we detail out, to the nth degree, the very essence of the system…documenting the core classes and modules. Then, and only then, can everyone, from the client to the Project Manager, Team Leader and coders, see the timelines, the vision and the end goal for the development.

It is not unusual at all for a client to come to us with a project that was never fully developed, is buggy or fell out of budget and time-frames for the delivery. In most every instance there was a lack of communication on behalf of the provider. The vendor clearly did not take the time to fully understand the clients' needs; in addition, they often failed to utilize a point-person or simply follow up on client questions.

Our process is rigorous, but by no means unique. We are extremely diligent about asking questions and fleshing out all possible details of any given solution prior to programming. That way, once the real work begins, we can be as certain as possible that we will complete it within both scope and budget.

Remember, an IT solution does not change the way your company does business…it is meant to enhance the business environment.

Cost

By using our state-of-the-art offshore facilities in India, and by incorporating talent from offices in Pune and Calcutta, we are able to keep our client fees lower than they would see at standard U.S. rates. We can consistently deliver high-quality programming and project management at the lowest overall costs.

More important, we have the capability of maintaining a 24/7 work environment. The California offices are 12-13 hours behind the Indian time zone, so often-times the development team will deliver revisions overnight and we have the ability to test and do Q&A during the day. Then, when we are closing shop for the business day here, we can deliver a series of change requests that are worked on during the evening.

The end result: a quicker turn-around time on many software projects. Clients are often amazed at our turnaround once all the due-diligence has been achieved and the actual job begins. We have repeatedly been complimented for our time-to-market on any number of larger-scale projects.
