You could try to be on all the channels, but you’re probably be exhausted trying to customize each post for each channel. The worst part is that you’d most likely have very little to show for your efforts.
That’s because the chances are better than average that your customers do not spend their time on all social media channels. And that’s the important task at hand: finding out exactly where your customers are hanging out on social media.
How to Find Out Where Your Customers Are on Social Media
Finding where you target audience is on social media may seem a bit tricky at first, but there are actually quite a few ways to go about it that are rather easy.
For example, if you really have no clue where they are, your competitors may. If you share the same target audience, take a look at what social media channels they are on and what kind of engagement they’re getting.
Another way to find where your customers are is to simply ask them. You could do this with an in-store survey or via email. Things you could ask them include:
- Where on social media do you spend most of your time?
- What is your favorite social media channel and why?
- What do you want to see from this business on social media?
