New Feature From Facebook That Will Make Communicating Easier for Small Businesses

In mid-November, Facebook announced that businesses would now be able to link their Facebook, Instagram and Messenger accounts together.

That means that business owners can, if they want to, devote just one inbox to act as their primary hub of communications across the three different services. You’ll also be able to respond through the inbox as well, rather than having to go through the process of logging into each one of them separately.

You’ll no longer have to go back to someone’s public timeline to see comments, reviews or feedback. Instead, all of that will be accessible through the new inbox.

That means you’ll now be able to scan across all three channels for new updates with confidence that important messages aren’t being missed.

Keeping Track of Previous Interactions

One particularly cool aspect of the new universal inbox feature is the ability to merely tap a person’s name to see their public profile as well as any previous interactions they’ve had with your business. This bit of knowledge will help you to do a better job of personalizing your communications with them.

How to Get Started With The New Universal Inbox

To get started with the new inbox, you’ll need to connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts. To do this:

  1. Click on “messaging” icon at the bottom of the your page in Pages Manager App
  2. Navigate to Instagram tab where you’re prompted to log in

If the accounts are already connected through Instagram ads, you’ll have the update automatically.
